About the program
Our organization is dedicated to providing support and empowerment to Black parents raising children with disabilities through our Black Parent Support Groups. These groups offer a safe and inclusive space for parents to connect, share experiences, and access resources.

These services under this program
Peer Support:
Black parents can connect with others who understand the unique challenges and joys of raising a child with disabilities within the Black community.
Information Sharing:
Parents have the opportunity to share valuable information, resources, and strategies for navigating various aspects of their child's disability and accessing support services.
Emotional Support:
Our support groups provide a compassionate and understanding environment where parents can express their feelings, concerns, and triumphs without judgment.
Empowerment:
Through sharing experiences and learning from one another, parents are empowered to advocate for their children's needs and rights within their communities and beyond.
Cultural Understanding:
The support groups are culturally sensitive spaces that honor and respect the diverse experiences and backgrounds of Black families raising children with disabilities.
Community Building:
Parents have the chance to build meaningful connections and friendships with others who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and solidarity within the Black parenting community.
Guest Speakers and Workshops:
We occasionally host guest speakers and workshops on topics relevant to Black families raising children with disabilities, providing additional education and support.
